Whether utilised for its durable strength or for aesthetic effect, steel is a respected material used world-wide for an array of famous structures. As the largest steel stockholders in the Midlands, we would like to pay homage to, in our opinion, three of the most impressive steel structures to date.
Currently number two in the world’s tallest steel skyscrapers category, this Manhattan building stands 381 metres tall. From the observation deck on the 102 floor, you can enjoy views of up to 80 miles away. Used as the backdrop for multiple film and TV shows from King King to Doctor Who, this tourist attraction is just as impressive inside as it is out.
From the tallest skyscraper to the largest building in terms of square footage, the New Century Global Centre in China is impressive for a whole host of reasons. With floor space spanning 1,700,000 square metres, this steel and glass construction consists of offices, hotels, a university and an indoor beach – now that is impressive.
Spanning 552 metres, the Chaotianmen Bridge helps all manner of vehicles and trains get to their destination quickly on a daily basis. With two decks, this bridge provides a valuable service and is certainly eye-catching with the steel arch as its most becoming feature.
