PROCESS STEELS COME TO THE RESCUE ON DIY SOS

The television programme DIY SOS: The Big Build, surrounds touching stories of local people and companies grouping together to help someone or a group who are less fortunate or are possibly going through a tough time with very little light at the end of the tunnel. Here at Process Steels, we are extremely proud to have donated to the last project of the 23rd series that was recently aired across the United Kingdom, as we aided with an essential extension by donating our RSJ beams to the family involved.

The project surrounded a family from Dudley where all 3 children were affected by the condition Fragile X Syndrome, which causes a range of developmental problems and cognitive impairment. Living inside a more confined, smaller home was definitely not ideal for the family, as two of the children were having to share a room, which was detrimental to their development and the aiding of the condition. More space was desperately needed so the parents re-mortgaged the house and attempted to complete work on a two-storey extension, although funds soon dried up.

This is where DIY SOS: The Big Build and our help came in, as the highest quality materials were required to provide the family with their dream home – that being somewhere safe and spacious enough for everyone to comfortably manage day to day life. Our bespoke steelwork expertise paid off as we donated RSJ beams that had been manufactured to the exact dimensions of the extension, so that it had the solid and secure structure to be built around and finished.

The project proved to be a great success as the family are now enjoying life in a warm, welcoming and spacious home that suits the parents and their 3 children. For us, it was a great experience and drove us on to continue innovating with our RSJ beams which help builders Birmingham and whoever else that is in need of an extension.
